Ep 101: The Story Behind How I Decided to Move Greenville, SC

My family and I are moving from Chattanooga, TN to Greenville, SC. More details about our transition are found here. I am the new lead pastor of Brushy Creek Baptist Church, Taylors, SC. In this episode of the podcast, I explain the process behind our transition.

Keeping your volunteer team up-to-speed and developing new leaders is hard. The way you’ve been doing it, empty meetings and unread emails, isn’t working.

You need something that lets you engage new volunteers while their interest is hot. Something to help you develop leaders as they grow, in real time. Something your people will appreciate because it saves them time. Heck, something that saves you time, too.

It’s time for TrainedUp.

One of the tools I am most excited about is Sermonary. It’s a revolutionary sermon building platform for pastors. Pastors have used everything from Evernote, Google Docs to Word but there has never been a dedicated sermon building platform, until now. Using their drag and drop builder, writing sermons has never been easier. You can add your name to the waiting list by going to sermonary.co.

  1. What an awesome God we serve. To know that this very moment in time was orchestrated before you were in your mother’s womb. I wept as I listened to how God intervened to bring you to Brushy Creek. What a humbling experience to listen to the whole story. WOW !
The fact of what you wrote your dissertation on is even more incredible. That is just my God showing off. He is worthy to be praised!

  2. So glad that God has called you to be our new pastor. We have been praying for you as you begin the preparations to move to Greenville. So excited for the vision you have for our church and community. Ready to hit the pavement and knock on doors. Lot of new neighborhoods being built all around our church and we need to reach them for the kingdom. It’s going to be sad to say goodbye to Allen he has really prepared us for our next pastor.. Looking forward to getting to know you and your family
